Top 5 Foods Bikinis Don’t Like!

Bikinis Blog

I’m no expert, just someone who has learnt from experience, that certain things we put in our mouths make us expand undesirably around the mid-quarters! Top 5 Foods Bikinis Don’t Like are all great in moderation, yet not always tummy-friendly!

That’s MY tummy by the way, no clinical trial or FSA/FDA approval required. Tried and tested by me. See if it works for you …

Common factors?

If this list was about food GROUPS I’d avoid in order to keep my belly from resembling The Gruffalo, there’d only be one in it … carbohydrates.

Not only do carbs build up and distend me to dinosaur proportions, they are actually the only food group that I have to cut down on to lose weight. That’s right, just the carbs.

Let’s just assume that you’re beach-body ready and that you’re dusting off the bikini for the pending summer season. Therefore, you might like to take a look at what you might restrict whilst separated from your oversized hoody. These foods have proven to be the Belly-Busters of Bloatsville.

Top 5 Foods Bikinis Don’t Like … The Biggest Offender!

1. Bread

Top 5 Foods Bikinis Don't Like - Bread

It’s a slow starter this one as it’s not necessarily the first to reveal itself.

I’m not referring to gluten-intolerance and Coeliac disease here. If that’s a possibility, please see you physician/ GP straight away. However, with many us, it’s suggested that bloating is due to sensitivity rather than allergy.

Nevertheless, there are many foods that contain wheat. However, bread is my number one nasty!

I like all bread products and have four ascending dress sizes in my wardrobe to accommodate that. I love the stuff. Nevertheless, if by day 3 of your vacay, you’re returning some clothes back to the suitcase , then bread could be the culprit.

If you’ve spent a fortune on that Tommy Girl two-piece, you might want to be mindful of how much bread you push into your mush.

2. Beer (Even in a posh glass)

beer

It’s a bit of a no-brainer this one, because there are so many alternatives to choose from at the free refills, all-inclusive beach bar. Therefore, no excuses for not leaving it alone.

Is it the yeast overgrowth in your intestinal tract? Sulfur-containing chemicals? Or those pesky carbohydrate calories?

Yep, probably all of the above.

Whatever it is, if you drink beer the night before your tie-back triangle briefs come off the balcony railings, they’re likely to stay there..

3. Nuts (You don’t even know you’re eating these)

The next three foods are awesome, super-healthy and packed with nutrients. So I don’t cut them out just because they’re in the Top 5 Foods Bikinis Don’t Like! I merely restrict them on beach days.

I do love the complimentary offerings served in some bars and restaurants. Although I’ve considered recently that many hands dip into that bowl. Nuts slip through people’s fingers …

These little blighters are so nutritious and healthy but have got to stay put on bikini week.

Is it the salt or the fat that’s hard to digest? I try to leave them alone.

4. Beans (The big masquerader)

beans selection

Although another nutritional gem, it may be the sugars and high fibre that are the actual crooks here.

Although, I’m not a big fan of beans, (unless they’re wedged inside a burrito, blocked in by cheese) they do bulk up a mid-week meal rather splendidly.

In certain cultures they’re as integrated as chips. Additionally, they’re easy to disguise and you’re not always sure you’ve eaten them. So you have to keep your eyes peeled I’m afraid, for these leery legumes.

If you’re heading to Mexico this summer, I’m so sorry…

5. Broccoli (Crucifying Cruciferous Vegetable)

Unfortunately, there’s more than one executioner here. Broccoli is in cahoots with it’s comrades: cauliflower, sprouts and cabbage. They’re a close-knit community. But broccoli looks so friendly with it’s little green florets and multi-dish compatibility.

Whilst researching this green-goddess, I came across a question being asked; ‘Is broccoli a real vegetable?’ and I laughed out loud. Who is asking such a question?

But apparently, it is not!

Broccoli is a human invention, bred from a cabbage. So we’ve only ourselves to blame for this little gas blaster.

It was developed by Italian farmers, with the word broccoli deriving from ‘broccolo’, meaning ‘flowering crest of a cabbage’.

So, not exactly what it says on the tin then?

Just five simple rules that I would definitely bear in mind if the swimsuit is making a public emergence.
