Celebrate the summer solstice! Almost every culture across the globe has marked this day in some manner since the beginning of time. Let’s honour this timeless tradition and celebrate the summer solstice together!

Here we are, living in an era of heightened awareness of our planet and the climate changes that inevitably affect our lives, as well as every living organism upon it.

Thankfully, we are beginning to appreciate our environment once more. Consciously adapting our ultra-modern lifestyles, habits, and conveniences around a surge of nurture and respect for Planet Earth.

So, when, where, and how did we lose sight of that?

A Timeless Connection To Nature

We all know that our ancestors centred their daily practices and survival around observing the elements and the influences of Mother Nature.

Summer Solstice Day, Midsummer, Litha, St John’s Day – whatever term you use, it carries the same meaning.

Dating back to the Stone Age, midsummer has marked the beginning of the summer season. This day connects us to prosperity, an abundance of food, and natural beauty.

It’s the day when the sun is high in the sky and appears to ‘stand still,’ symbolising the start of the much longed-for summer season. Hence, we arrive at the longest day and the shortest night.

It’s no surprise that the sun, one of the most powerful natural forces, has held such importance in human history.

Our Opportunity To Re-connect

Regardless of our gradual disconnection, cultures all around the world still celebrate this day with feasts, bonfires, picnics and songs.

Is there anything more gratifying than food, music and a bonfire on a summers evening?

Although humanity has largely lost connection with these ceremonies and understandings, it’s not too late to tap into the power of the sun and its positive influences in our lives.

Therefore, solstice is a natural way to reconnect with life’s plan and to feel a deep connection to the natural world.

Celebrate The Summer Solstice – Freedom and Unity

So let’s celebrate the summer solstice! This is a time to honour greater freedom, diversity, and tolerance of worship – a unity in diversity that fosters altered states of awareness and shifts in mindsets.

Take this day to choose a path that aligns with your own beliefs. Reflect on the grander scope of life and believe in yourself!

Summertime is the perfect season to fully embrace everything you love.

Light a candle, relax, breathe, and reflect.

A Global Unity

So finally, before the night closes in, let us unite across cultures, lifestyles, and religions. Together, we can share in the energy, warmth, respect, and spirituality of this special day.

Observe, absorb, and give thanks to our planet.

Happy Summer Solstice Day!
